Let Me Live 03:41
Let me live, let me live sometimes and let me die / So I can have all of the answers to questions I've never known / Cause being born isn't everything it's cracked up to be / And being bored isn't everything our parents made it seem... I guess someday I'll make it home / To someplace I've never known. I promise I will make it up to you in another life / One where I won't spend all my time getting high / Where growing old is everything I said it'd be / And staying gold comes to me so easily... CHORUS Let me come home / Sink like a stone
2.
You called me out / Said I'm only getting older every month, week, day, and hour / I'm such a coward / Said I'm losing all my angles and I'm slipping out of power Getting over this isn't something to be proud of / God, my God I miss the things I was so sure of when I was young It feels like wolves gnashing at my feet / They're all looking for something in which to sink their teeth / But it's not me / I'll make it up to you I promise; I'll stop bleeding all my speed CHORUS
3.
Do you think that we could be those people who lose everything and never get it back / Do you think that we could leave our dreams out sleeping in the street and in the sun and never get our lives back on track? I don't know Do you think that we could be those people who take everything with fingers crossed behind their backs / Never open up our eyes enough to see each other / I still hear her voice at night, I'm so sorry April Wheeler I don't know All I know is the American Dream / All I know is what I see on TV / All I know is the American Dream / All I know is what I can't reach This is what we could have been / This is what we never were / This is what we could have been / This is the story you never heard Let it go.
4.
Dust went flying into the air and I lost my hold on you / Now you're gone, gone, gone / Dust wen't flying into the air and my hands covered up my eyes / And I lost my sight I've spent my days just searching for you / Dusty Bibles and motel rooms but you're gone, gone, gone / I've spent my days just searching for proof / Empty bottles and living rooms that you're long, long, gone I will siege this town / I will search it out / will search it out / I will raze this town / I will smoke it out / I will smoke it out for you I never trusted the Russians.... with you. My God I've got to find a better way / Before I suffer Gatsby's fate

Midwest 04:48
The taxman came to my home / Said we might have to foreclose / But I said this is where I've spent my whole life / This is where I rode my first bike / This is where I took my wife when she gave birth to our first child / Though he never grew up / I still see his face around here so much / So he handed me his pen and ink / Said, "I need your signature please" / He said, "I really do care, but I've got to catch a plane got to get in the air" So hold your breath..... and sink in. Living the midwester high life / Of dirt, dust, ethanol, and long nights (God left me hungry, and haunted, and stranded, and I'm praying for rain... God I'm praying for rain.)
6.
They saw a ghost out on the water / It couldn't reach us / We were on the coast when we saw her / We couldn't speak up We all know damn well / When the tide starts to swell / We don't go back to sea They taste the salt / They feel the ship / They taste the cigarette on her lips / They find their faults below their hips / And they are struggling to keep them in CHORUS Oh captain, my captain / You are the sea / If your stormy waves won't take the likes of me / I'll take my leave
7.
Let You Go 05:47
I haven't written anything in years that sounds right / So maybe this song will make you feel like / You did when you were young / Make you feel like falling in love with me again I know things have to change / But I just want to stay the same You could be the one to help me out / From underneath the shadow of my doubt / And help me get back on my broken feet / So we can get back to writing our story / And fall in love with life again CHORUS Don't let me let you go / Cause I can't make it on my own
8.
It's cold, I don't have any place to go / So wrap me up in canvas and stone / And sink me down to whatever depth you need / To wipe me out from your memory Did you ever think that I would be the one to leave? You don't believe in everything you read / So I won't believe in anything I see / Cause that would make me a fool among thieves / And that would break me Did you ever think that I would be the one to leave / Was there any doubt when the chips were down and everyone was out? It's cold, I don't have any place to go / So wrap me up in silver and gold / And make me worth whatever you see fit / To make me worse CHORUS (This will be the last I'll see you.)
9.
Get Out 04:00
I've broken all the bones in all the back I've know / They were all just stepping stones to get me back to home / Where I've taken on the King / Only to be abandoned by the Queen / For a glass house / Full of false hope Maybe they were right / Maybe I've lost my sight / I'll be leaving town / As soon as this house falls down God knows I made a scene / From the front door as I watched you leave me / And I've taken on the King / Only to be abandoned by the Queen / For a glass house / With my last hope Maybe they were right / Maybe I've lost my sight / I'll be leaving town / As soon as this house breaks down Get out, get out / Leave me here / Get out, get out / It's not you I fear / Get out, get out / Leave me here / Get out, get out / There's no God I fear Maybe they were right / Maybe I've lost my sight / I'll be leaving town / As soon as my lungs shut down.
10.
Is This It? 05:11
Is this it / Is this the peak of my existence / I know I'm getting older (getting older) / Things are getting hard to shoulder / I made a badge for you and a badge for me / One of courage and one of sympathy / But which one will I wear on my chest / My chest is getting so heavy I can't breathe and I can't speak and I can't sing / But I'll push it out anyway I still hear her voice in my head / Telling me to clean up this fucking mess / You're such a goddamn wreck I still hear her voice in my head at night / Telling me I've got to do my best / Pick up the pieces of what is left And just let go....

about

The Typist is a culmination of ten years of musical experimentation in the Southwest Oklahoma area. This current rock outfit blends the members’ personal styles into a blessing from the barren earth they live on and praise for their inspiration. The four artists that form The Typist try and cultivate a rich sound and profound aesthetic that is representative of their corner of the state.
